I've been reading
The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood written by Rebecca Wells. I have to say this is one of the best novels I have read for a while. This book tracks two stories: The story of Vivi Abbot and her three friends, the Ya-Ya's and the story of Sidda, Vivi's daughter who is estranged from her fiancé and working on some serious soul-searching. This book, which was made into a movie, celebrates the bonds of female friendship and sisterhood as well as the tenacious bonds between mother and daughter. Wells is an inspiration for her ability to bring the characters to life on the page.
